Ballet Dancers Really Do Turn Out Better™
"World Peace through Ballet™"
As we prepare for "Arizona Ballet Theatre's 2009 Nutcracker In The Land Of The Sweets ™ Party," I will repeat my Little Mini-Lecture On Required Footwear for Dress Rehearsals and Performances:
Required Footwear for Dress Rehearsals and Performances
Parents - This is the time to make sure Your Performer has all the proper foot wear for the Two Performances as well as the All-Important Dress Rehearsal.
For Ballet, all shoes must be ballet pink, made of canvas, or leather. Split sole ballet slippers are highly recommended.
Elastics and Ribbons must be securely sewn to the shoes and all extraneous cords, knotted several times and chopped off.
Ballet feet must be neat. Nothing dangling. Nothing tied in a little pink bow.
Also, since some ballet shoes currently available come halfway, pre-sewn; some tardy dancers have simply tied knots. Those knots are NOT acceptable for the Dress Rehearsal, Evening, and Matinee Performances. They are unsightly which is something a True Ballet Dancer NEVER wants to hear.
Jazz Shoes MUST BE black.
Tap Shoes MUST be Black.
I'll consult with Miss Megan and Miss Tori about Tap Ribbons. Color might be a nice touch. I love color.
That's about it.
