Every Arizona Ballet Theatre Dancer Is A Princesss or A Prince Ballet Dancers Have The Best Attitudes
Ballet Dancers Turn Out Better™
Good Morning Dancers,
Yes. There is Ballet Class this morning at 9AM followed by Mini-Pointe until 11:15. Tomorrow I will teach the last ABT Ballet Class of July, from 1:30 to 3PM.
Next week Norman Walker will teach his regularly scheduled Tuesday line-up AND will substitute for me in my Ballet Classes - Monday, Wednesday & Friday Mornings, as well as next, Thursday Evening from 6:30 to 8PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for the "Legion of Fans of Norman" to really get your fill. I hope you support him and ABT next while I am away by attending. Thank you. Norman will also be teaching Monday, August 16th:)
I have also arranged excellent and exciting subs for the next two Tuesday's - Jan Berg will be covering for me for Mini-Pointe at 5:30 & Ballet Technique, which starts at 6pm and ends at 7:30.
Karina Paredes, one of the most exciting "turners" in Tucson - (watch out...she is fast)...will sub for me for the next two Wednesdays; Learn-to-Turn runs from 4:30 to 5:30; Ballet Technique ends at 7PM.
Also, the ABT Fall Schedule 2010 has some exciting New Classes that I hope you will support. Miss Willa, assistant and "right hand"to Miss Megan will be teaching her very own classes on Tuesdays.
Rebecca Raney will teach Intermediate Ballet Class, Monday afternoons from 4:30 - 6pm. Very exciting:)
Jan Berg will be teaching Adult Beginning Ballet twice per week: this addition to our ABt ballet line-up will greatly expand the options for brand new dancers who want to dive in to the Wonderful World of Ballet. She will break apart The ABT Set Barre combinations and other drills for you, preparing you for more advances classes down the road...
Also, Norman Walker will teach Modern on Saturdays, as well as Tuesdays giving you two opportunities per week to have Modern with The Master.
I am very committed to the many improvements we are implementing at Arizona Ballet Theatre. Our performances in June were outstanding. Team ABT - Megan, Tori, Norman and I are so excited/delighted to welcome Willa, Rebecca, Jan & Karina to the Faculty.
Wonderful...
Also, as of yesterday, you can even "like us" on Facebook. Wowsa.....
Here's a Special Announcement About ArcoIris Sandoval's Upcoming Concert on Saturday, August 7th
It's a fabulous farewell concert by ArcoIris and her musician associates, including her fantastic music Teacher, her Dad!!!
Dear Friends and Family,
I wanted to inform all of you that on Saturday, August 7, 2010 I have organized a farewell concert with the cooperation of Judy Parsons, Tucson Jazz Society and the Tucson Jazz Institute at the Berger Center for Performing Arts from 3-5pm. This concert will feature myself on piano, Ian Stapp on bass, Pete Swan on drums, Matt Mitchell on guitar, Brice Winston on tenor sax, Jason Carder on trumpet and flugelhorn, and my dad, José-Luis Sandoval, on tenor sax.
Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go directly to alleviating part of my fall tuition at the Manhattan School of Music as well as helping me make a more stable transition from Tucson to New York City. The repertoire will include my own compositions, as well as some favorite Latin and Jazz standards so I'm sure you will enjoy!
if you catch this in time, I'll be on KXCI 91.3 FM tonight at 9pm doing an interview with Ernesto Portillo of Onda Suave for the concert.
For more details you can check out the following websites:
The Berger Center is located on the north side of Speedway and Grande which is west of I-10.
Tickets can be purchased online at Tucsonjazzsociety.org, from me, or on the day of the show!
I will be playing at Old Pueblo Grill on Broadway and Alvernon this Saturday July 31st from 7-10pm and this Sunday August 1st from 7-10pm so that would be a good time to purchase.
Thank you so much for your time and support!
Sincerely,
ArcoIris Sandoval
If you enjoyed hearing about ArcoIris' farewell concert. before she goes of to study in The Big Apple,

To help our Arizona Ballet Theatre Dancers and their families find things they need ,
here is an Amazon.com search panel...
If you were to find something that interests you; and if you were to choose to purchase something using this link, we would receive a teeny referral fee. It costs you nothing of course, since the fee comes out of Amazon's cost of doing business.
However, it would be a good idea to ask Miss Cecily what she thinks of it before ordering a book or instructional video, since there is a good chance she has it in the ABT Dance Library. Also, she may not think it's a good book or instructional video. So why waste your money?
Here is an example of ballet DVD selections in a horizontal scrolling type of selection panel.
Let me know what additional DVDs or CDs you suggest adding to this panel. Or, if you would like, I can add a scrolling panel of your personal favorites with YOUR name on it. Just let me know your list of favorite DVDs, CDs, and mpg music selections.
We'll see how this goes, OK?
