Good Morning Diehard Tucsonians & Readers Far & Wide,

It is an overcast, cloudy morning - a much anticipated state of affairs in The Old Pueblo. Enjoy. Perhaps our Rain Dancing at ABT is contributing to the delicious rain we have been receiving the last few days. I am enjoying the many RainBows, too! let me know if you spot one; I want to share it with you:)

I am hoping, also, for a LIghtning Show over the Tucson Skies like those that made such a vivid impression on me a decade ago; when I first arrived here in June 2000, I was dazzled and amazed at the monsoon storms of which I had been completely and totally unaware. As a resident of the NorthEast for most of my life, I had no meaningful conception of what living in the SouthWest might be like. I simply had no clue....

Ten years later, I am happily teaching Ballet Classes on a daily basis, I hope adding to the creative spirit that thrives here, and I love it.

For those Summer Absentee Arizona Ballet Theatre Dancers, we have been working on This Year's First "Spanish" Choreography all week. The adults already have "dibs" on it for the Nutcracker Party at the End of December; I must say, Bo is looking very smashing when he drills it in classes. "Fans of Bo" may have to make a FaceBook Page. Watch out world, you are about to be "Bo-wed Down;" (as in "mowed down", but in a good way:) FYI - that is a Studio inside joke.

The endorphins are happily percolating at ABT this Summer. We have a lot of fun while working hard & improving in real time. Jumps are on the current agenda. If you want to bump up your ballet vocabulary, there is "No Time Like The Present."

Come join us for Morning Ballet with Miss "Moi" today, and Our Summer Extra-By-Request Saturday Ballet tomorrow from 1:30 to 3pm.

Until I see you, please remember to keep on dancing in a safe, sound, solid way. Listen to your body - It IS your instrument. No collisions. Remember to think like a dancer. Come to class:)

    Our morning classes are really lots of fun, with challenging and delightful choreography by moi. Arizona Ballet Theater dancers really move beautifully. We carefully cultivate their line.


Some Reminders:

  • Keep in mind that our Fall Semester will begin on Monday, August 16th! The Tentative Fall Schedule is posted in the little box above. Click on it for a larger version.

  • The All-Important Performance Dates for 2011 have already been reserved; they are Saturday, June 4th & Sunday, June 5th, 2011.
  • The days leading up to the show are needed for rehearsals, of course. ABT always holds its performances the week AFTER Memorial Day Weekend. By that time, school activities are completed, graduations and other presentations are most likely over, and the focus can be rightly placed on ABT Performance related activities.

  • Please schedule your vacations away from Tucson for Monday, June 6th, 2011 and later. Thank you in advance for paying attention to this most important commitment.

However, it would be a good idea to ask Miss Cecily what she thinks of it before ordering a book or instructional video, since there is a good chance she has it in the ABT Dance Library. Also, she may not think it's a good book or instructional video. So why waste your money?
