Cecily-
Thank you and congratulation on another outstanding performance. This year was by far one of the best performances I have seen. Again, you and your staff went above and beyond to create a magical experience for the children in your studio. I know that my daughter is extremely lucky to be a part of such a wonderful program. You and your staff's hard work and dedication in instilling the love of dance into young children is truly a gift. The performance was fun, beautiful, and in the words of Amelia "The best time ever!!!"
Thanks again and we can not wait until next year.

Good Morning Miss Cecily:
You are a
legend in our family and as dear to us as a priceless treasure. I’ve heard your name for years and
witnessed the gifts you bestow on all your young girls. How, you may ask? By watching my precious grandniece, Mia Rogers, grow year after year from a precocious little toddler into a graceful and passionate young dancer.
She worships your philosophy and strives to perfect her technique. She reminds me so much of her father, Jeff Rogers, who at 7, decided he would become a professional soccer player. And he did, when he signed his first professional contract with the Dallas Sidekicks before he was 21. Mia has his commitment and passion. Regardless of whether she fulfills her dreams of becoming a professional dancer or not, her time spent in your presence will enrich her life and give her enduring confidence. Thank you for your dedication to the arts and to the development of our young women.
I read your blog every morning, just to keep abreast of Mia’s environment and I find wonderful words of encouragement and optimism. I know it isn’t easy but your perseverance and patience is always cloaked in kindness and the fortitude that is so essential to accomplishing anything. Your actions support and demonstrate your philosophy which is essential to young women. You make a huge difference in many young women’s lives.
With great gratitude and appreciation,
Sharen Sibley Jantz
(Mia Rogers very proud Aunt – all the way from Nashville, TN)
PS: how do I order a tape of their recent recital?

An Outstanding Achievement
Thank you so much for all your work and leadership. We have all been very fortunate to be a part of such an remarkable production. Both performances were breathtaking. The dancers on the stage and the less visible training, preparation and coordination behind it were tremendous. Bravissima!

Subject: THANK YOU!
Hi-
I just wanted to email you and say thank you for providing such and positive and wonderful experience for my daughter Amelia. She had the best time and really loved her experience. You run an extremely professional and positive program that makes all of the children feel worth while and successful. Miss Megan is fabulous and we love her. She has amazing patience and tenderness with the children and she has really sparked a love of dance in Amelia.
Also I was wondering about the man that was there for most of the rehersals with the camera. Does he have a web site that he will be displaying the pictures? Will they be for sale?
Again thank you soo much for all of your hardwork and dedication. We are very pleased that we have found your studio and look forward to many more fabulous performances in the future.
Enjoy your summer dancing with us at Arizona Ballet Theatre in Tucson. If you will be away, we will see you in August.

Here are some of last years messages from the families of our Dancers in Arizona Ballet Theatre's May - June 2007 performances of "Choreographic Homage - 2007" at the University of Arizona's Stevie Eller Theater, on the Tucson campus. They were very inspiring and meaningful to us. They really showed us that "Our Families" recognized what we were trying to do, and appreciated it.

Cecily,
The performances were "magical", overflowing with elan, and for us Elijah's sparkle!
Bravo to all of you.
I would like 2 DVDs of each performance (June 3 & 4th).
TOTAL (4) = $120.
When will they be available?
Alisa Z. Shorr

I am happy to announce that DVDs of the performances are currently available. Just come in or call Margaret to arrange to pick them up.
Thank you for your lovely words of support and for supporting us by buying the DVDs. I am sure your family will cherish them, as do I.

Dear Miss Cecily,
How can we begin to thank you for the magical experience Emma enjoyed over the past several weeks? The final dress rehearsal was truly epic. These will be life-long memories for her..and for me. I eagerly await the performances, but regardless of outcome (which I’m sure will be phenomenal) we are so pleased with the process.
Watching Emma “warm-up” in the incredible facilities at Steve Eller brought so many memories of my own childhood. I would have died to have had access to facilities like that as a high school ballet student, nevertheless as a 4-year old! I was so impressed with how the “big” girls in their magical pointe shoes included Emma, encouraged her, and set wonderful examples of what it means to be a part of a dance troupe. She felt so big, so included, and so important. You would pause to re-position her or comment to her, just as if she were one of your more advanced students. I can’t thank you enough.
When she walked into the dressing room and saw rows and rows of pastel tutus hanging up, it literally took her breath away. She gasped! Young ladies getting dressed, hair being pinned, toes stretched. It is all part of the experience. Michael took the time to help her with her hair piece. Miss Megan stopped for a picture with her. Kayla directed her calmly. Even the “blue” girls - so excited themselves – seemed to include the little ones. I am so appreciative if this kindness to the youngest students is part of their instruction. However, I got the sense that it was just part of the natural dance experience – to include the entire cast. I never heard back-talk, inappropriate language, or so much as a bad word between dancers. How refreshing from a group a teenagers.
I also appreciate your firm direction. No gum! Stop talking! Focus ladies! These are all concepts that even the 4 year olds grasp clearly. It brings respect to you, respect for themselves, and respect for the art of dance. It is the difference between a “real” dance studio and a recreational class. At the same time, your warm encouragement and pleasant way makes it so fun for all.
Working with Miss Megan has been wonderful. She is such a perfect instructor for the little ones. Her constant smile, warm greetings, and bright attitude have made her my daughter’s hero. “ I love Miss Megan” is a phrase frequently heard in our home. She is a wonderful role model for the young.
I will say once more thank you, thank you for your approach to the performance experience, and for all you do. You go above and beyond what is expected, and your philosophy for the studio has made it feel like home for Emma in such a short period of time. Including all students, young through professional, throughout the entire performance practice has been so magical. It fills Emma’s head and heart with thoughts of what she can become.
Fondly,
Vivian VanPeenen – Emma’s Mom

Dear Vivian,
I cannot begin to tell you how much your happy and insightful letter, filled with meaningful detail, means to us. It captured and highlighted aspects of our philosophy that we really hoped are noticed and inspirational and full of meaning to our Dancers and Families. We really do want everyone to be helpful to each other, to work as a team, and to focus on encouraging our younger dancers. I loved your use of the word "kindness". This should be an oasis of kindness in a busy and fretful world. Thank you so much for noticing and letting us know how it made you and Emma feel. Also your very complimentary words about our staff are music to our ears. Perhaps we can dance to them! (I will try to post your lovely pictures to our Homage 2007 Photo Gallery)
You have my deepest thanks, Cecily
Here are some earlier emails, before we changed our name to Arizona Ballet Theatre, that really delighted and encouraged us:

"Both our children have studied dance at Cecily’s Dance Tech from the day it was founded. We have been so pleased to see how Cecily’s delivers technically superior dance instruction in a supportive, affirming and caring environment. Both our daughter and son spend hours at Cecily’s each week. It is practically their second home. Cecily’s has helped our children develop not just solid skills, but also self-confidence and a positive body self-image. Cecily’s Dance Tech is more than just a studio teaching dance in its many and varied forms. Cecily’s is a dance community, surrounding, nurturing and affirming your child.

Thank you Leanne and Erik. This is a truly thoughtful gesture, and we appreciate it. It means so much that you took the time to write such meaningful and beautiful things. We will try to continue to live up to your evaluation! It's wonderful to be appreciated. It's even more wonderful that we are living up to and actualizing our goals and philosophy, as expressed in our mission statement on this website. Does that make sense?
Simply stated, you make us feel very good; we are even more motivated to live up to your good words.
Thanks again,
Cecily and Chic

Here is a delightful description from Jennifer of her family's reaction to the 2007 Summer Program.
"Thank you so much for the summer program. My daughter has gone from telling me everything that was wrong with her day at school, to what a fabulous (her words) time she has at the studio. What an improvement! Monday she demonstrated new jazz moves, Tuesday was tap steps, Wednesday she taught me Irish. Making headpieces and modeling are huge hits too.
I think I'm jealous, I want to go play too. Thank you for being so much fun and sharing your gift of joy.
Jennifer"
